While I am so insanely passionate about a lot of things, chiropractic care for my family is a BIG one! I came across the wonders and necessity of chiro care when I was about 24 weeks along in my pregnancy last year. My pelvic floor and tail bone were so sore because of my baby, I decided to try chiro care. Words cannot express how thankful I am for Dr. Amanda Ferguson and her knowledge, skill, and giving heart! I do not think I would have made it through pregnancy and now my life as a mother without her (and the entire Ferguson family staff!). If you go onto any of their platforms online, you will read pages of 5 star reviews of their care.
So now that I have told you who is the best, let me share some facts and information on what exactly chiropractic care is and why it's beneficial! Chiropractic care is health maintenance of the spinal column, discs, related nerves and bone geometry without drugs or surgery. It involves the art and science of adjusting misaligned joints of the body, especially of the spine, which reduces spinal nerve stress and therefore promotes health throughout the body.
Establishing pelvic balance and alignment is a great reason to obtain chiropractic care during pregnancy. When the pelvis is misaligned, it may reduce the amount of room available for the developing baby. This restriction is called intrauterine constraint. A misaligned pelvis may also make it difficult for the baby to get into the best possible position for delivery.
This can affect the mother’s ability to have a natural, non-invasive birth. Breech and posterior positions can interfere with the natural ease of labor and lead to interventions such as c-sections.
The nervous system is the master communication system to all the body systems including the reproductive system. Keeping the spine aligned helps the entire body work more effectively.
The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics reported in the July/August 2002 issue an 82% success rate of babies turning vertex when doctors of chiropractic used the Webster Technique.
SO, basically, chiro care is HUGE, right? While I highly recommend getting adjusted 2x a month, I cannot recommend it enough for pregnancy. Not only does it make you feel so much better, you're doing yourself & your baby a HUGE favor by doing so.
If you have any questions regarding chiro care, please feel free to comment or message me! I'd be happy to help with anything I can and I know the Fergusons would love to help as well!
Sending you so much love, health, & happiness! <3
